Here is a page where people have sent us sites and news that may be of interest to you.

Bambos has sent this YouTube link to SelfTaughtGirl who has uploaded lots of episodes of ‘The Classical Guitar’ programme from the 80s.

Keith has asked us if we’d like to do our own concert (perhaps being joined by another musical group?).
We did have a successful one earlier this year.
This would be a fairly informal event - probably held in the Meeting Room, Heslington.
Any suggestions and ideas most welcomed - for instance, any of you like to do a duet or trio?

You can email Keith here.

As many of you will have seen on the national news, parts of Swaledale, Arkengarthdale and Wensleydale were recently devastated by flash floods. Locations familiar to Swaledale Festival attendees such as Grinton, Reeth, Langthwaite and Leyburn all suffered considerable damage. Homes, businesses and farms were all affected.
Thankfully no lives were lost, although there were some close calls and sadly many pets and livestock were killed. A month’s rain fell in a matter of hours causing damage to property and infrastructure. Two key roads out of the Dale to Richmond and Leyburn remain closed due to collapsed bridges.
In the days that followed, our community have been truly amazing. Volunteers have worked tirelessly to help those affected and start the unenviable task of cleaning up and restoring some sort of normality, but there is still much to be done.
Local and national government agencies have mobilised and several fundraising efforts are in place, but it has now been agreed that all donations should be directed to a central fund coordinated by Two Ridings Community Foundation:
Swaledale & Wensleydale Flood Recovery Fund.  All money raised will be spent to support those affected by the floods, with guidance from a local panel including representatives from Ard Rock, Reeth Memorial Hall, Hudson House, Richmondshire District Council and North Yorkshire County Council.
Properties and businesses will need to be rebuilt, which will take time and money. We have heard that many houses were uninsured due to the high cost of flood insurance premiums in certain areas. Swaledale Festival are looking at fundraising activities to take place at a future date, but until then we would ask, on behalf of our community, to
please help if you can. Donations can be made here:
In the meantime, the Dales are open for business as usual, so do continue to visit and support our amazing community.
Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you in the Dales soon.
